April came and went in the blink of an eye, and just as quickly it is time to sit, reflect and draft a new set of goals for May. April was filled with challenges, as was every month so far in 2020. Quarantine, social distancing, and the world essentially being paused challenged not only my equestrian goals but my personal ones as well. While I was (mostly) consistent in following the fit equestrian Equitation Bootcamp program, quarantine and boredom encouraged one too many trips to the refrigerator, somewhat nullifying my fitness efforts, and organizing my riding closet led to the inspiration to revamp my wardrobe, resulting in many online purchases. While I think it is important to set goals to help keep myself on track, it is equally as important to know that the process of achieving those goals is not linear. I try not to beat myself up too much if life gets in the way and my monthly goals have to be adjusted. Flexibility is important – as long as I am working within my abilities to reach my goal I am proud of myself.
